  • TrendForce Says Mobile DRAM Revenue Grew 14.8% Sequentially in Second Quarter and Will Keep Climbing in Third Quarter
    08-23-2017 / TrendForce
DRAMeXchange, a division of TrendForce, reports that the global mobile DRAM market experienced some recovery during the second quarter, though smartphone sales remained sluggish. Smartphone brands had lowered their annual production volume targets in the first quarter and in turn faced inventory pileup for memory components. However, the situation later improved in the second quarter and stock-up demand returned. [ more ]
  • TrendForce Reports 4.6% Sequential Monthly Gain for Average Contract Price of PC DRAM Modules This July and Expects It to Keep Rising This Third Quarter
    08-07-2017 / Avril Wu
DRAM prices began to rise in the second half of 2016 and have maintained a strong upward momentum through the first half of 2017, according to data from DRAMeXchange, a division of TrendForce. The average contract price of PC DRAM modules rose by nearly 40% sequentially in the first quarter to US$24 and then by more than 10% sequentially in the second quarter to US$27. • TrendForce Reports 1Q17 Global Mobile DRAM Revenue Fell by Just 1.7% From Prior Quarter as Average Contract Price Remained Stable
    05-24-2017 / TrendForce
DRAMeXchange, a division of TrendForce, reports that the global mobile DRAM revenue for the first quarter of 2017 dropped slightly by 1.7% compared with the prior quarter. The smartphone market in the first quarter went through the conventional off season in the first quarter with the global device production volume declined by 23% from last year’s fourth quarter. On other hand, contract prices of mobile DRAM have kept climbing. These counteracting factors resulted in a small dip in the total mobile DRAM revenue. [ more ]
  • TrendForce: Mobile DRAM to Become Mainstream within Industry, Account for 40% of DRAM Revenue in 2014
    12-12-2013 / Avril Wu
According to DRAMeXchange, a research division of TrendForce, the impressive sales of smartphones and tablets have prompted DRAM manufacturers to gradually shift their focus from PC DRAM to Mobile DRAM since 2010. The proportion of DRAM revenues accounted for by the latter has risen from 14% in 2010 to about 35% this year, and is expected to show continuous growth in the next two years. Based on comparisons of the supply bit growth figures, Mobile DRAM is likely to not only replace PC DRAM as the mainstream DRAM product in 2014, but also show the largest shipment numbers within the industry. • TrendForce: DRAM Industry Outlook Positive for 2014, Annual Sales Growth Likely to Exceed 10%
    12-05-2013 / Ken Kuo
According to DRAMeXchange, a research division of TrendForce, 2013 has been a critical year for the DRAM industry. Benefiting from the rising smartphone and tablet sales, the first tier DRAM manufacturers gradually shifted their attention to Mobile DRAM, a move which caused the eventual decline in PC DRAM production; In the periods following the fire accident at SK Hynix's Wuxi plant, 4GB module contract prices rose from US$17 to US$33, and gave DRAM manufacturers greater room for profit. • TrendForce: 1H'Nov Prices Stay Flat, Weak Market Demand Increases Pressures for Price Adjustments
    11-21-2013 / Avril Wu
According to DRAMeXchange, a research division of TrendForce, the upcoming off peak quarter and underwhelming worldwide demand have made manufacturers relatively unwilling to agree on the 1H'Nov contract prices. Due to the persistence of such a situation, along with SK Hynix's strategic decision to lock its Q4 prices, the contract prices have remained mostly flat. The 4GB average prices stayed relatively unchanged at US $32, whereas the 2GB prices remained at US$17.75. [ more ]
